For twenty years, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Sacramento and Northeastern California has fulfilled the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Each child is given the opportunity to choose his or her own special dream come true.

The Adopt-A-Wish® program was created to give our caring community the chance to play a significant and very personal role in the granting of a wish. By "adopting" a wish, you can help a child have a happy, hopeful time…a time of relief from the treatments, hospitals, anxiety and fears that are so much a part of his or her daily life. You can help create lasting memories and the gift of a lifetime!

How the Adopt-A-Wish Program Works

Wishes typically fall into four categories:
"I would like to go……."
" I would like to be……"
" I would like to meet…….."
" I would like to have……."

The Adopt-A-Wish Program allows your company, employee group, professional club or civic group the opportunity to select a child from your geographic area and choose a type of wish and level of support. Once the "adoption" is matched, you will receive the child's first name, age, medical condition, city of residence and the child's chosen wish.

Types of Wishes and Levels of Support

There are countless opportunities to make a child's dream come true. The Adopt-A-Wish Program has the following levels for participation:

Computer or Shopping Spree Wishes: $2,500
Disneyland/Disney World, Celebrity and Electronics and play structures: $5,000
Hawaii, New York City, Large Gifts, Cruises: $7,500
International Wishes: $10,000

Adopt-A-Wish Recognition

Following the granting of the wish, you will receive:

A framed photo/or wish art of your child's wish
Recognition on our Chapter website
Acknowledgement in Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Sacramento and Northeastern California's publications
